HOW TO KNOW YOUR FACEBOOK ACCOUNT IS HACKED OR NOT?
There are several ways which can tell if your Facebook account is being used by someone else.
First check the facebook activity log where every user activities are listed according to time. Checking Activity log is the easy way to know the truth. Just remember your activities and check after sometime if you find any abnormal activities in the list, you need to take immediate action.
To access Facebook Activity Log, You need to login to your Facebook account. In the web version, select the 'Activity Log' from 'Settings and Privacy' by clicking the 'Arrow' button in the upper right corner of the screen. For the application go to three lined icons on the upper right and select 'Settings' and choose "Activity Log".
Check for any type of unusual emails and messages from unknown sources. There are several attempts to hack Facebook accounts through the account recovery option. So you need to be careful if any such message comes in your email account. Many times a secret code comes in the mobile phone number. Sometimes strange messages are sent to people in your friends list but you don't send those messages. So check the inbox to see if there are any abnormalities.
Check if your profile information has changed. Especially to your mobile phone number and email address which indicates that the account has been Hacked with no doubt.
Account hacking can be checked through user location history. If location history is turned on, Facebook collects your location information. When it is turned on and if the hacker enters your account at that time his location will also be recorded. An unknown location may assume someone else has entered your account. However, if the location of the hacker is close to you, it is difficult to catch and if you use a virtual private network (VPN), you will see the new location on the list for normal reasons. A user location needs to be enabled while using Facebook and Facebook app must have an allowance to the location only then location history will work.
Location history can only be checked through the Facebook app. Tap on the three lined icons horizontally from the top right corner of Facebook's Android app. Then select 'Settings and Privacy', go to 'Settings', then go to 'Location'> Location History and View Your Location History.
IF YOU FOUND YOUR ACCOUNT HAS BEEN HACKED, WHAT YOU MUST DO-
First go to a website named haveibeenpwned.com. Now input your mobile number or e-mail address and press ‘pwned?’ Button. Mobile phone numbers should be written in English and international format. That means ‘+country code and mobile number ...’, without any space. Your account will show a red message if the information is leaked, if not a green message will be shown. If you see a red message, scroll down a bit to find out which information is leaked through your mobile phone number or e-mail address and when.
If your account is not so important then collect the essential documents from your account and delete that account and open a new one. To delete the account, go to three lined icons on the upper right position of the facebook android app and go for 'Account ownership and control', select "Deactivation or Deletion of the Account '' and choose 'Delete The Account'.
Sometimes any third party app wants an allowance to use your facebook account information. Before you give the allowance, read the directions carefully and if you find anything unusual, don't allow that App to access your Facebook account information.
