JOURNEY OF GOOGLE
In the world, there are only four big technology companies and Google is one of them. As we know Google.com is the world's largest search engine. But the Full name of the company is Google LLC which is an American multinational technology company. Larry Page and Sergey Brin were two Ph.D. students from Stanford University in California when they created Google in September, 1998. It was started as a search engine and for internet related services. After getting a huge popularity Google started providing online advertising technologies, a search engine, cloud storage, software, and hardware.
Google got a huge growth when they started offering new products, softwares, and applications. From a search engine company now it became a brand. Google is the first which offers some windows features on android like docs, sheets, slides, gmail, drive for cloud storage etc. Google also relaunches some old apps with a new and more advanced UI and features. Some of the relaunched apps are Google Calendar, Message, Call App etc.
Google also provides its own developed Application. GOOGLE applications are Google maps for navigation, for instant messaging and video chat (Google Duo, Google Chat, and Google Meet), language translation (Google Translate), podcast hosting (Google Podcasts), video sharing (YouTube), blog publishing (Blogger), note-taking (Google Keep), and photo organizing and editing (Google Photos). Not only apps, Google has launched their smartphone, Smart Home Speaker, WiFi Router and every Google product is user friendly, smooth, enhances user experience and encourages users to buy more good products.
When android started, Google was just a commercial sponsor. Now Google is running the android OS. Today an android smartphone wouldn't work without Google. In web browsing Google made a huge change. Instead of a junky data consuming browser, Google released their own Chrome Browser which runs on FOSS Chromium OS. Now Google has full control on your smartphone and your own data.
On October 24, 2015, Google got its own subsidiary of Alphabet Inc. and Sundar Pichai was appointed CEO of Google by replacing Larry Page, who was the previous CEO.
HOW MUCH GOOGLE KNOWS ABOUT YOU?
As your smartphone is running on android, it is totally based on Google apps and before you do anything you must login to your Google account.
Google always records all the activities via Google apps. In the Google app open my Activity and check the details. But User can always change the setting and clear the history.
Google always remembers your searches and shows you the related content via ads or search engines. If you notice, when you search for any type of product for a few days, you will be shown the same type of product via ads on Google.
Google also keeps your email id saved.
Chrome Browser saves your passwords.
Google maps records your movements via GPS.
While using the account Google knows the address.
While using 'OK GOOGLE' it records your words.
But you don't need to worry. All the data which are collected by Google are for research purposes and it also helps the apps to respond quickly to users that increases user experience. Google has a legal policy for that. And about security, Google provides one of the best security systems in the world. So, your account information is safe with Google.
HOW OFTEN YOU SHOULD CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD?
Google password is the most important factor from the view of privacy and security. As all of our personal data is stored on Google. So, the account must be safe and the password should not be leaked.
In an interview, Google CEO was being asked this question about how often he changes his password. His answer was that changing passwords frequently is not mandatory. It should be changed when it is asked to change by the software. Two-factor authentication works much better than changing passwords. When you turn on the two-factor authentication. If anyone tries to log in you will get a notification and if you give the access only then your account can be logged in.
Now Google has released their Latest Android 12 OS which comes with a new UI and more advanced security.
